At the end of King David’s reign over Israel, he was preparing to turn the kingdom over to his son Solomon.  David’s desire was to build a temple for the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant.

David had the years of leadership experience to complete such a large task and had made the necessary plans to build the temple.  However, God’s direction was that David could not build the temple; this job would be held for Solomon to handle.

David wrote in Psalms 20:4 during this time “May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.”  I can’t help but believe he had Solomon on his mind and the monumental task of building the temple that lay before him.

We relate to this feeling of an overwhelming task, and I would be willing to bet that you can as well!  Today, I proclaim to you “May he (God) grant your heart’s desires and make ALL your plans succeed!”
