An ancient brotherhood of builders goes back to 1446 B.C. Bezalel and Oholiab were specifically chosen as designers and builders to build something that had never been built before. Their task…build the Tabernacle and all it’s furnishings according to detailed specifications.

Since that day, builders, designers, masons, carpenters, craftsmen, and artists of all varieties have carried on this tradition of building for the Kingdom.

During lunch with a missionary is where I received my call to be a builder. Little did I know, this was an ancient calling with a rich history. The missionary I was at lunch with grew up overseas as a missionary kid and watched his parents face the challenge of construction; these stories sparked my call to build.

Today I am honored to serve as the director of Builders International. Our inspiration as an organization and our call as a fellowship of builders is inspired by Bezalel, Oholiab, and the skilled craftsman who constructed the tabernacle. It has come to be known as, The Builders Call.

For the record, I’m no mason…but a great helper!

The Builders Call has two parts:

The call to build (Ex 31:1-6)
The call to teach (Ex 35:34)

Elements of The Builders Call:

Specifically chosen (Ex 31:1)
Filled with the Spirit of God (31:2)
Given great wisdom, ability, and expertise (31:3)
