Kicking off a year full of plans and travel, we experienced an exercise of diligence in God’s timing.  On January 28, Lynzi went to the ER experiencing serious stomach pain.  Our assumption was that she had a bad stomach bug.  Turned out, she had a ruptured appendix and went right into surgery.

All went well during Lynzi’s surgery, however, over the next week she developed an abscess, due to the infection from the burst appendix and had to return to surgery.  After 14 days in the hospital and still on the mend, she was able to go home.  The following week another abscess formed and she had to spend one more night in the hospital for a surgical procedure to drain the infection.

Into week four, the pesky infection continued to persist and an infection specialist put her on a round of heavy antibiotics that we are currently administering at home via a PICC line, which is a type of IV.  We give her 6 rounds of these IV antibiotics per day and will continue through next Friday, March 7th.

Lynzi on the mend.

Lynzi on the mend.

Lynzi is showing great improvement and we believe that she will be over this just in time to enjoy spring break!

Thanks to all our many friends, family, James River Church pastoral care team, and the Builders International team for all the prayer and support during this time!  We thank God for his protection on Lynzi’s life!

We have no regrets for this “change” in plans!  Remembering Proverbs 19:21:  Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

So glad to see her picture. She hasn’t lost that sweet smile thru all of this. God will use this time in her life for a defining moment no doubt. Love to all.

Thank you so much for this update. She has been through so much, as you have also been with her. We continue to pray for her and believe God for total restoration in her body. We love you all so much.
