I just visited Nepal in December, planning for the construction of a new women’s dorm at the Nepal Theological College. It is truly heartbreaking to see such devastation there now.
The needs and suffering in Nepal compel us to take action. However, I learned from the response after Haiti earthquake that in terms of infrastructure assessment, demolition, and reconstruction, starting too soon only adds to the problem.
Right now the need in Nepal is related to humanitarian aid like food, water, medical care, and temporary shelters. You can give toward the crisis response here.
What are we are doing at Builders International? We are planning for an infrastructure assessment team and giving the workers in Nepal time to meet their families’ immediate needs and coordinate the critical humanitarian response. Thank God that all of the Nepal field team is safe and unharmed!
Donate for Assessment TeamAs soon as we can have an assessment team on the ground, we will prepare a reconstruction recovery plan that identifies the projects that are necessary, the scope of work, and what resources it will take to complete each project.
