It was my pleasure to meet Pastor Barnabas Mtokambali, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in Tanzania.  In four years under the leadership of Pastor Barnabas, the church has grown from 172K adherents, to over 600K.

This kind of success gets my attention!  This growth is not by accident, but a result of big vision followed up by an operational strategic plan.

This vision has been titled “Tanzania for Jesus”, and endeavors to do the following in a 10 year window:

  1. Plant 10,000 new churches
  2. Train 10,000 new pastors
  3. Build 32 church planting schools
  4. Train 2M new believers
  5. Send 20 missionary families to other countries

“Tanzania for Jesus” campaign began in 2009, thus far they have planted over 2000 churches.  They are on track to meet the goals!

You can be a part of this great work by helping us with a strategic Bible school in Dodoma, Tanzania.  Check out the project by clicking here.

In listening to Pastor Barnabas share how this vision and strategy where developed, I believe we have some things to learn!

4  Things We Can Learn about BIG VISION:

  1. Big vision begins with listening to your team.
  2. Big vision comes from Fasting and Prayer.
  3. Big vision must be followed up by practical strategy, on paper.
  4. Big vision requires hard work to be fulfilled.
