Shortly after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Richard Green contacted me with interest in serving an extended period of time on the mission field in construction. Richard had been traveling on short-term missions trip for over 25 years, but felt God calling him to more.
An organization is only as effective as it’s people are willing. The impact of Builders International in Haiti was greatly impacted by the service of Richard and Kelly Green. The Greens moved to Haiti in August 2012, hosting many construction teams, leading a Haitian construction crew and finishing seven churches and grade school facilities that had been destroyed.
In order to to make their move to Haiti possible, the Greens sold their home, gave away a vehicle, and closed their florist shop.
As the work began to draw down in Haiti, Richard began to ask what’s next? It turns out, Tanzania is next! Richard will be working on the Dodoma Bible College. The church in Tanzania is in a robust ten-year initiative to plant 10,000 new churches!
The Greens head for Tanzania on May 12, 2014.
